Lakeside Fun

We had a blast can you tell? These are all taken either at the Saucier family house or at the Cyr's place. The sailboat is a souvenir Dana Sr. picked up here in Annapolis for the Lake house. Here's a picture taken from the lake side of the property. And here's a few of Austin experiencing his first bon fire and smore!!! Gotta love the picture of Chris and I in our Soap Opera pose, I just had to do it, after tubing my hair was permanently wind blown Dave and Heather's is pretty good too... oh what fun!

Busy, busy, busy

Because life has seemed to get ahead of me since we've been back, I haven't had the time to finish posting all the photos from out trip. Rather than not 'getting around to it,' I'm just going to go ahead and let the pictures tell the remainder of the story. We hope you all enjoy them and as always we love your feedback. xo Liz xo

All our love

If there's one thing in life Austin does not lack it's love, laughter, giggling, cooing and awing and attention and well the list goes on, but you get my point. You can never have too much of any of that and that's what I love about visiting family members anywhere, but especially in Maine. The Bernier, Saucier, Nadeau & Cyr clans live by laughter, love and their families, what better way I ask you? We never feel we get enough time with any of them, but know we will see them all soon. These are just a few of the pictures we captures of family members, mostly with Austin. They only show a sliver of all the loved ones we saw. I was sad to see I took no pictures of cousin Tia (1 month older than Austin) playing, but Jen I know you'll send me the ones you took of the little tikes.

Austin's Teddy bear Uncle Ron... Never has our little guy gone to someone he doesn't know too well, so willingly as he did with Monocle Ron. We were so glad to spend a bunch of time with him and his beautiful bride Noella. Ron recently got a tattoo of a bald eagle and American flag, one that resembles my grandfather's tattoo. My dad had wanted to get that tattoo when he was still alive, in memory if their dad. Uncle Ron had my dad and grandfather's initials designed into the artwork. It touched me and made me appreciate just how very missed my dad is by everyone.

Taunt Too-too, words cannot express how thankful we are for her. She has a heart of gold, just like dad. Austin enjoys spending time at Taunte Janice's place with her crew of kidos. I know he doesn't lack attention, love or laughter there. Janice allowed Chris and I to enjoy a few moments without the little dude, which is certainly a treat. Austin just loves dancing with Too-too and never objects to spending time with her.

Time with the Cyrs. Taunte Rita entertained the little man with bubbles on the lawn while Chris and I went tubing. We had a great lunch at their home with many of the Nadeau crew. Cousin Matt spent a lot of time sharing smiles with Austin and making sure mom and dad have fun too. A huge congrats to Matt who just earned the assistant principal position at his school.

Kev and Dawn love our boy and he just adores them back. We had a delightful evening with them at their camp on the lake as they hosted us for dinner one night. Kev stopped by the Cyr's place after tubing just to say hi and Dawn was ever ready with coffee brandy cocktails in hand. They went out of their way our whole visit and we are soo lucky to have them both in our lives. I personally can't spend enough time with all of my dad's siblings, they exude his light and love and it's something I miss so much.

Memere Saucier was able to spend a good amount of time with us. It was nice having her right around the corner this visit as she spends summers on the lake. As most of you know Austin is a wiggle worm and unstoppable, even more so as he becomes more and more mobile. Memere did well hanging on for a while, but the little guy just HAD to keep moving.

In Portland

I've just completed editing all the amazing photos we took while on vacation and must admit I'm overwhelmed with the amount of blogging I'm going to have to do to include you all in on the fun. We had such a wonderful trip, and yes it is good to be home, but I must admit I do miss the 50 degree nights, lobster and most of all family and friends. I'm starting at the end and working my way to the beginning of our trip so that when you all read the posts you should be reading this one last.

Our trip ended with a visit in Portland with Chris' Aunt Vera and Uncle Dean, their daughters Sarah, Amy and her husband Brandon and their awesome little boy Eli (Austin's long-lost best bud). Eli was born two months before Austin. They got along so well, playing with toys, running and crawling around the house and just getting into trouble like little boys do. Dean and Vera hosted us in their beautiful house in Scarborough Maine, just South of Portland. Amy and Brandon live just a few doors around the corner from her mom and dad's which I envy for many reasons, the neighborhood is perfect! We all went out to dinner the night we arrived and enjoyed lobster rolls and fried clams on the beach between two of Portlands many lighthouses.

The next morning Chris, Austin and I headed out to do some sightseeing while Hannah stayed at the house with cousin Sophie(a herding dog who has as much energy as she does). We checked out the Portland Head Light, areas of Cape Elizabeth (love the name), a few of the smaller lighthouses and Old Town Portland, where we had some more lobster rolls and clam chowder. We picked up a new collar for miss Hannah there with little lobsters on it and a book on loons for Austin.

Then it was back to Dean and Vera's house to say goodbye. Luckily Eli was there so Austin was able to get some play time in before the ride to Cathy and Jamie's house in CT. We had so much fun in Portland, we hope to go back soon and for longer than just one night. Thank you Taunt Vera and Uncle Dean for letting us stay with you, please come visit soon, we love your company.

The rest of our journey was smooth sailing. We spent the night at Cathie and Jamie's place in Farmington, CT to break the trip a bit. We always enjoy our time with them and know we are in the best hands there. You guys are the best and treat us like guests every time we visit even though Chris is your crappy little brother!!!! Just kidding. We were trying to leave Tuesday, and had hoped to be on the road around noon. Well Chris' sunglasses went missing and if any of you know Chris well, he goes NO where without his sunglasses. I guess our nephew Sam (5 and a half) knows his uncle Chris really well. After turning the house inside out for well over two hours, Sammy came clean to me. He told me that he didn't want uncle Chris to drive, and proceeded to show me where he was keeping Chris' sunglasses. We all got quite a laugh out of his sweet efforts to keep us around. We'd still be there looking for the darn sunglasses had Sam not have such an honest heart.

The drive home went smoothly. We're here and are already planning our next trip up to Maine for Thanksgiving.
