MySpace

I have a my space account. I now, like this isn't enough of a waste of my time. Well you see I'm in a web design class right now and viewing web code is good for me, so I thought I would start a MySpace account to work on stuff there too.

Here's a pic Cathie and Jamie sent me from this past weekend at our nephew Sam's 6th birthday. I just love it. He's wearing daddy's hat. Love you all, will post more cruise photos soon, I promise.

Some more time on the ship

On the Ship

Here they are finally, the pictures from our cruise in the Caribbean. Here are some pictures from our time spent on the ship, the Carnival Glory. it was a very nice ship and the cruise staff was top notch. We wish there were a few more facilities available to children as the play area on the ship was only open a total of four hours the entire trip and the children's pool was well, concrete and not a bit forgiving for little ones. Austin really loved the towel animals our room steward John made every night. Mom and Dan treated all of us to balcony state rooms, and we enjoyed many sunrises, sunsets and views from there. Austin's favorite thing to do was hang out in the jacuzzi, listen to the live music (mostly reggae) and running up and down the halls.

Lazy Blogger

Hi all,

Sorry I've been such a lazy blogger lately. Work has been busy and Austin is very busy and Chris and I just trying to keep up!

Here are a couple pictures I took for his Valentine's Day cards. He just got a hair cut. Chris and I think he's looking more and more grownup. Enjoy!

Will blog on our cruise next so stay tuned.

Love, Liz

My Responsibility, our responsibility

Friends and family. If ever there has been a forum where my voice has been heard it is here on my blog. I attribute the high level of traffic I receive from our adorable little boy and I am thankful for that. So for our charming little Austin, the one we all love so much, and for his cousins and friends and someday their children, I ask you to do one thing. If you haven't already seen the Documentary An Inconvenient Truth, please go out, rent it, Netflix it, buy it, ask us, you can borrow our copy, just watch it. It has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with the responsibility we have to our planet and our children. There are so many things we can do to slow the progression of Global Warming. So recycle that coffee cup you're drinking out of this morning, turn off the light you leave on in the kitchen at night just in case, wash your clothes in cold water instead of hot, turn your thermostat and water heater down a couple degrees and walk, walk, walk, everywhere you can so that Austin can experience a white Christmas and the thrill of a snow day off from school, snowball fights, tunnels and forts!

Grandpa and all my other "right" family and friends who may be too set in their beliefs to even think of watching a documentary staring Al Gore, like I said before, it's not about the politics. Roger Ebert wrote, "In 39 years, I have never written these words in a movie review, but here they are: You owe it to yourself to see this film. If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to."

I would love to hear all of your comments on this subject. You all know I am not one to get worked up over an issue, you'll see why this one's had such an impact with me though once you've watched the flick. Visit http://www.climatecrisis.net/ and let me know who wants to borrow our copy of the movie. Love to all, be green, be smart.

The happiest day of Austin's life

Santa brought him a train for Christmas and oh my goodness... now, nearly a month after the big day, he still has this look on his face every day when he sees his new train set.

We had such a wonderful Christmas. Brother Chris came down which made us all so thrilled, especially Austin. We were so sad to have to send da-da off to work on Christmas day, but were gladly welcomed into Laura's dad's home for dinner in Virginia that night.

Thank you so much to all our family and friends who thought of Austin on this very special day. He was such a good boy and Santa definitely showed his appreciation. Austin has played with all the toys he received for Christmas, and especially loves the Radio Flier Rocket cousins Josh, Sam and Ben sent him.

There was so much excitement leading up to the big day. Santa even made a visit to Austin Christmas Eve. Just before we were heading out for midnight mass, Santa came by the house to have milk and cookies with Austin. He was totally stunned, thrilled beyond description as he sat on the big man's lap. The little guy even fed Santa a cookie, what a sweetie. Chris and I enjoyed watching him interact with Santa, unfortunately Bo-be was upstairs in the bathroom and missed the whole thing ;o).

More updates to come, hang in there our cruise pictures will be up very soon.

We've been busy

3rd times a charm I hope. This is my third attempt at posting this blog, I had a nice little journal written and everything, lost it all, twice. Firefox crashed my computer which is so strange for this mac user.

So let me try to write as I did twice before.

We've been busy and for all of my dedicated family and friends who look to our blog (and Austin) for a daily smile, I'm sorry I've been so bad about posting lately. My goal is to catch you all up to speed with what's been going on with us and of course little Aussie-roo. It should only take a day or so as the photos are ready to go.

So I will start with Thanksgiving. I spoke a little about the excitement surrounding our trip up to Maine with Chris' grandparent's 60th anniversary in a previous post. We were thrilled to spend time with all family members. We were all so excited that Donna and Lee made it out from Oregon. Hannah was a little disappointed that cousin Maggie-Mae couldn't make it out to play, but was glad to have Uncle Lee to herself with his 'fat-cow' petting sessions. Austin confirmed his love for brunettes as he formed quite a bond with Aunt Donna. He had his hands on everything, including the huge, yummy Anniversary cake (I think Aunt Donna taught him a little thing about taste-testing).

The other highlight of the trip was welcoming Laura to Fort Kent for the first time. It came to no surprise that her warm, kind self blended right into the rest of the Bernier clan. She and Chris came up for a quick visit a the lake, here are a few pictures from that.

I'm a bit sad, because I really slacked on my job taking pictures during the rest of our wonderful visit up there. We spent such great time with my family and kept very busy seeing as many people as we possibly could. I have to stop and remind myself that many of the greatest times spent with family are often sweeter as a memory and not a picture. We took many memories away from this trip.

That's all on that. More to come soon. Thanks for checking in on us.
