Friends & Family

Hi all, as always thanks for checking in on us. Things have been a little less crazy these days. As the weather cools off a little, I am reminded of just how much I love autumn and all that the harvest brings. This past weekend we spent meeting new friends, catching up with old friends and enjoying the company of my brother and Laura.

Kevin, Paula & little Connor Spratt spent Saturday night with us which was such a treat. The Spratt fam used to live here in Maryland, but actually moved to Vegas the exact same week we moved here. We had yet to meet little Connor as Paula was only a couple months pregnant when we saw them this time last year. What an amazing little guy, so even tempered, so sweet and so handsome, don't you think? Well one night was night enough and Chris and I are trying to plan a trip out to see them in the desert, maybe in the spring.

Saturday we attended Laura's mom's wedding in Virginia. It was a 2 hour drive and well worth it. The country is so beautiful out there and we were introduced to so many wonderful people. We can't wait for our next trip out there, we'd love to see a little more of the area next time Chris and Laura are in town. I've been wanting to take Austin apple picking and they had just a ton of orchards out there.

Chris is so loving that it's football season again, lots to do being on 3 fantasy teams! Austin actually sits still while the game is on. It's funny how he picks up on things, I guess he senses his dad's delight in the game. Not to say I don't enjoy football, I just get a kick out of my guys.

That's about it for now. We have Sesame Street Live, Elmo Sings tomorrow night in Baltimore. Can't wait to see how Austin reacts to that, he adores Elmo and the other monsters from Sesame Street. I'll do my best to take pictures for you all. Take care my friends and family. Hope to hear from you soon. xoxox Liz & the Gang xoxoxo

Say a Prayer

May I request of you all to say a prayer for my Uncle Ron? He's not feeling well and in the hospital in Bangor, Maine, a long way from his home in Connecticut. He's Austin's teddy bear and has a heart of gold. His wife, my aunt Noella, is with him. If you could say a prayer for her too because lord knows how tough it can be just being so strong for the one you love. Thank you all. Bless you, Liz

A Dog Day in D.C.

Chris, Austin and I took a trip into D.C. for a couple hours today to see the William Wegman "Funny - Strange" exhibit at the National Art Gallery. We've decided that it's our new favorite museum (which is saying a lot being that it's replaced the Air & Space Museum for Chris) and that William Wegman is much more an artist than the guy who takes pictures of his ever so patient Weimaraners. Wegman became known to the mainstream eye for his haunting and hilarious photographs of his many pups. We found his others works to be just as fantastic as his photography, a well rounded and extremely talented artist.

Austin got a kick out of the print with the pup with all the Strips of paper wrapped around her, "Strippy," and actually laughed out loud at it. Most of the time we were in the hall housing the Wegman works, Austin provided the sound effects, barking and whining in the way he hears his puppy Hannah doing, very appropriate and as always was recognized for his cuteness by many in the gallery. Hey at least he wasn't screaming like most kids would do. He loves dogs and made it quite obvious to everyone today.

So that was our adventure for the day. We can't wait to go back and see the rest of the museum. Austin was able to get through most of the third floor, we'll save the 1st and 2nd floors for another visit. If any of you ever have an opportunity to visit one of William Wegman's exhibits, I would highly recommend you go, very impressive, brings out lots of emotions, mostly laughter. Wish we could have shared it with you.

Love to all, the Saucier-fam

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

This is Chris as a guest blogger. Before the season ends, we wanted to take Austin to his first baseball game. We had talked about it a while back and then the idea sort of got lost in the back of our minds as a lot of things do when you have a baby. Our friend Nathan managed to get his hands on 4 tickets to see the Red Sox visit the Orioles last week. I wanted Austin's first game to be a Red Sox game. We invited Matt and Kendra Schlueter along, who had to drive up from VA in a bad rainstorm. As if DC traffic isn't bad enough, the rain didn't help and they got to the game a little late.

Austin really enjoyed it although he was totally overwhelmed by the noise at first. This is by far the biggest event he's been too. He managed to make it to the bottom of the 8th, when he finally fell asleep. He was a big hit with all the people in our section. Best part of all.....the Sox won it in the top of the ninth with a Mark Loretta go-ahead single. Although the Red Sox stand no chance of going anywhere near the playoffs, it was a lot of fun to see them. I'm sure this is the first of many baseball games Austin and I are going to go to.

Taking Da-da for a walk

Well not too much to report on here. Life has been busy trying to keep with little Austin. Chris and I took the kids to the park this afternoon and had a wonderful time. Just thought I'd share a few photos. Austin is so, so close to walking. He holds tight to my hands for the first few steps. Then he gets so involved with what he's doing he barely holds on at all. I know he'll be walking any day now. I was trying to get a picture of him walking in front of the house with Chris, but being that he's well aware of the camera now, he decided to pose for me rather than continue to walk, little stinker. As you might be able to tell from the pictures, he's very much on his own and likes the independent life. Any time I try to help him do something he gets very mad. His wonderful little personality has begun to blossom and I am finding myself in awe with how complex my little baby is. Well thanks for checking in on us. Hope to hear from you all soon. Love, love, love, Liz, Chris, Austin and Hannah-the-wonder-dog (who got to play lots of ball at the park. Woof!)

For Bo-Be

I took a couple of shots of Austin wearing the 'wife-beater' my bro got him for one of his birthday gifts. I was afraid with the weather getting cooler, he may not have a chance to wear it again, so.... we had a great time taking pictures, as always.

Austin told me to dedicate this to his Bobe, for all his hard work, and dedication to us, especially the little man. Chris was just offered a permanent position for the company he's been working with for several months. His title? Producer! How awesome, we're so excited for you dude. Not sure if the site is public yet, but you'll all have to check it out. Travelistic.com (watch where you go) is an internet based virtual travel mobile that not only offers its viewers different shows, or channels, but the opportunity to upload and share your travel videos with the world.

We can't wait to see you and Laura in a few weeks. Thanks again for everything and we couldn't be more ecstatic for you.

Enjoy the pics, Austin's a bit sweaty and not feeling 100%, think he's cutting a couple bottom teeth. Wish him luck with that.

Storming Ernesto, feathery friends & cousin Glenn

Just wanted to let you all know we're still here. We haven't had a whole lot going on. Chris' cousin Glenn and friend Pete from Fort Kent came for a visit. Chris and I took them downtown to see the capitol and gave a drive thru tour of the academy. We then went to our favorite Crab house Harris' to feast on great seafood.

The rain has got us all spending a little too much time inside, cabin fever has set in on Austin and I. The weather has finally cooled off a bit though, this summer was so, so hot it's nice to finally have temperatures back in the 70s and 80s. Chris caught a moment of sunshine and found this feathery little friend on our back porch. We faired Tropical Storm Ernesto pretty well. We lost power about half way through the storm so our sub-pump was not able to run and part of out basement was flooded. Chris has been working very hard getting the place aired out and has done a great job. I'm already gearing up for the next storm which is projected to hit us next week some time. Hopefully we won't loose power again. We were lucky and only had a little water in the basement, our neighbors had 2 inches of standing water. Yikes! Chris helped them clean that up and get all their stuff dried off.

That's the news in the Saucier world for the moment. Hope you are all doing great and thanks for checking in on us. Can't wait to hear from all of you. Love Liz and the gang
