Losing interest in LOST

Now tell me, why has LOST been a total let down for us this season? I almost can't get myself to watch anymore. Could it be that Heroes rocks cable now and LOST has nothing on it? I don't think so. I think LOST has too little mystery these days. Granted a level of mysteriousness still exists, however you no longer feel like the numb-skull idiot that used to wonder about everything, the numbers, the 'Others', the Sawyer, Kate, Jack love-triangle. Ahhh, I miss the days of yelling at the television at the end of the episode, 'You've got to be kidding me! You can't end an episode/season like that! Oh this is so good.' Now the only thing that reels me back in is the preview for next week. Okay, just had to get that out.

Sorry, Austin pictures coming soon.

Candles

Laying about hundreds of toys, one can find a small $2 candle in our home. This is Austin's new favorite item. At any given time, over the course of a day, you can find our guy strolling around the house, sitting on the coach or riding on his rocket with his candle in hand. Every so often he'll stop it all to take in a quick whiff, then it's back to his activity still candle in hand.

Come on Academy!!!

You've got to be kidding me! Cars didn't win, I'm a tad disappointed. We saw Happy Feet as well and though yes it was quite entertaining, it wasn't near what Cars is. We support you Pixar! and thank you so much for giving us Cars!

Wayfarers Welcome

We were quite busy this weekend enjoying the company of friends and family. Mom and Dan came down from Long Island for a couple days and Angela (one of the few friends from Wyoming we've kept in touch with) came out from Ohio. The weekend started with our routine run to the Amish market where we shared our love for the homemade buttery twisted loveliness known as the Amish pretzel with Ang.

From that point on we saw a lot, ate a lot and enjoyed each others company through Annapolis, Baltimore and D.C. I wish I had taken more photos. On two occasions I had to leave early due to a crying and unhappy baby, once a the Aquarium in Baltimore, the other at the Spy Museum in D.C.

Austin's got some tough love for me these days, very much addicted to my presence and often not willing to cooperate, a small price in retrospect to the joy he brings us all. I wish I had more energy to write, but for now I'll just leave you with images. Good night for now and thanks for checking in on us.

Two Peas

What fun Austin had when his friend Billy came over to play. The two of them are so much alike, Billy's mom and I just laugh now at the similarities. Austin and Billy enjoyed sharing their snacks and feeding puppy-Hannah. Erin is also a photographer, that alone gives us plenty to talk about not to mention the other many things we have in common. She has a few pics on her blog of the boys as well. Enjoy the photos.

My Funny Valentine

We've had a lot happen in the past week. Our home has been frequented by several of our favorite people, including Grammy & Pop-pop, Miss Angela (blog Diva), Billy-the-kid and his mom Erin (fellow mom-blogger).

Austin has been keeping us all very, very busy. He is into EVERYTHING and then some. His new obsession will be discussed in a future post once I get around to taking some pictures. Here are a few pictures I neglected to post from Valentine's day. Much more to come.

A Happy Icey Love Day

Took a few pictures of the ice this morning. What a mess! Everything is just covered in a thick layer of ice. Happy Love Day. We're having a splendid time as Chris got a snow day!!! We've been having fun playing inside and keeping warm. Hope you're all well.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!!

We had a great time today playing in the snow before it turned to mucky-yucky freezing wet garbage. Here are a couple pictures. I only took a few, I didn't feel it was fair to deprive Austin of a great time in the snow purely for the benefit of capturing a great photo. As long as he's in the picture, in my opinion they're all great!

Hopefully we'll get some more play time in the snow tomorrow with Daddy. Enjoy the blog, look forward to your feedback! Oh by the way, yes my poor son's mittens are on backwards, it just happened that way okay?

Before the Storm

I was so thrilled that the temperature went above 35 degrees Monday! Austin and I had a great time playing at the park. I'm not sure what this says for the little man, but he wanted to play more with the open spaces, like the tennis courts, soccer field and basketball court, than the jungle gym stuff. He really loved running around the fences and figuring out how to get from one side to the other, sort of reminded me of a mouse maze in a weird yet simple minded way.

I find more and more that Austin avoids me when I have a lens pointing in his face. I mean can you blame him, really mom! Get that thing out of here, I only want you, not that silly black thing stuck to your face. Not to mention the fact that I am always coercing him to perform when I have to camera out, making weird noises "yee-heeee, yoo-hoo, knyack, knyack, boinga, boinga, boo!!! ... Aussie, look at mamma honey, look here." He's just not the vogue type... thank you God!

Here's what I got. Hope you all enjoyed the video. So many pictures of that darn cute hat, I know, but don't you just love it. Thank God for Brooklyn's children's stores and Uncle Bo-be! My wide-angle lens makes Austin's head look a bit like an autumn gourd. Lets see what other vegetable's I can make my son look like. More pics of the snow to come. Love to all, Liz & the rest of the acorn squash

P.S. Check out this link, I laughed myself loopy! This is what I'll be doing tomorrow when we're snowed in! You'll find me as the Sleepy Seal.

No!

Chris and I are trying to make due with his iCam as a substitute for a real camera. Sad I know, but we had to capture Austin's 'No!' and a bit of singing. I was actually trying to get him to say his 'yeah!' Which is so much cuter, but he's been a tad contrary and no just seems to flow better for him. We can't figure out why the quality is so bad, hopefully we'll be able to figure it out!

New Additions, new addictions

Just thought I would add a couple things to the blog, make it a bit more interesting. First I would like to welcome Gene to my Blogin' Buds links. Second I am adding a new links side bar that'll take you to a few of my favorite sites, and I am hoping it will eventually take you to sites I've designed personally. And third, I met another mom here in Annapolis, we have a few things in common; she also has a blog, and is a photographer, and has a really cute son. On her blog she lists "things I can't live without" and links to their respectful sites. I think it's such a fantastic idea I am adding "A Few of my Favorite Things" sidebar to my blog too. So thank you Maureen!

Photos do no justice for the energy, charm and whit this little guys puts out minute by minute, man do we need a video camera! I've been trying to improve on my editing skills, there's a ton I still have to learn on Photoshop, even after using the program for almost 10 years. Let me know your thoughts on these two shots of Austin, is it a good candid, looks professional, just cute due to the subject etc. I hope you enjoy the improvements to the blog, can't wait to hear from all of you. Love to all, Liz

PS - This is Chris. For those of you in the Nadeau clan viewing this. I have finished the DVD of Memere and Pepere's 60th Anniversary party. I think it's great, personally. I have a bunch of copies and was planning to send one to each of the kids (Donna, Paul, Pete, Tom, Rita and Mom of course) but if you would like one, please email me at saucier.chris@gmail.com

Welcome Cooper Jay

I'm a little late posting this one, sorry guys! Austin is a big cousin! The Bernier clan welcomed Jen and Toby's newest addition to the family January 23rd. Little Cooper weighed in at 8lbs 11 ozs and was 21 inches long. Big sister Tia (only three weeks older than Austin) loves helping ma-ma and daddy and continues to get more beautiful every day. We can't wait to see you guys again, hopefully soon. So glad to hear mom and baby are doing great. Boy daddy sure looks proud huh? Austin, Tia and Cooper are really going to stir things up when they're a little older, I just know it. Congrats guys! We love you.

Yum!

Hi everyone! Austin has been keeping us very, very busy these days. He's saying new words left and right, today's were book and five. He also showed us how can knock, knock, knock! And he finishes that with a 'he-wow?'

He climbs up anything he can reach and sat at the big table (not on it this time, in a chair on a phone book like mom used to do for me) to 'read' his National Geographic from Grammy. This issue highlighted the differences between cats and dogs and boy did our little guy have a blast barking and meowing at each one of them!

I snapped a few shots of him loving his breakfast, pan-fried toast and blueberries, now tell me this kid doesn't have Maine-iac blood.

Hope you are all doing great and can't wait to hear from each one of you.

Love to all, Liz, Chris, Austin and 'H'
